One of the processes for preparing samples for microscopic analysis is polishing for metal structure inspection. To remove material from the metal surface, polishing is generally performed by gradually switching from coarse abrasives to finer ones until the desired surface characteristics are achieved. During polishing, the abrasive grains are embedded in a binder, and the bonding is cleaved through the polishing process.
